Information:
Sheriff Dale R. Gribler reports that
Mr. Gregorio was northbound on M-40 when a deer ran in front of his
motorcycle. Mr. Gregorio could not avoid the deer; he was ejected from his
motorcycle sliding down the roadway separating his shoulder but appeared to
have no other injuries. Mr. Gregorio was wearing his helmet along with
leather gear that protected him from further injuries. The motorcycle did
have extensive damage to the front end.
He will be treated and released from Bronson Lakeview
Hospital.

Narrative:
Sheriff
Dale R. Gribler reports that Deputies were dispatched to the 27000 block of
County Road 665 in Waverly Township for a single car accident.
A passerby reported that they observed a white Grand
Prix in the ditch and saw two subjects standing outside of the vehicle. Upon
arrival, it was determined that the driver, a 19 year old female from Grand
Junction, was traveling southbound on County Road 665 when she lost control of
her vehicle and slid into the ditch.
Further investigation and contact with the passenger
revealed that the female was texting while driving and was also intoxicated.
Both are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
A search of the female’s belongings revealed that she
was also in possession of a Taser, a felony punishable by up to 4 years in
prison in the State of Michigan.
The passenger, a 45 year old male from Pullman, was on
Parole out of Allegan County and found to be intoxicated. The passenger was
lodged at the Van Buren County Jail for the Parole Violation.

Sheriff
Dale R. Gribler reports that Deputies were dispatched to a one car crash in
the 48000 block of M-43 in Arlington Township.
While en route, Deputies were advised that this was a
fatal crash. Upon arrival, Deputies found the driver deceased and the driver
was the only occupant of the vehicle. Upon investigation, Deputies found that
the vehicle had been eastbound on M-43 and, for unknown reasons, drifted off
of the right side of the road, struck a guard rail face and continued
eastbound off of the road. The vehicle becoming airborne when reaching a wide, deep
creek and then striking the embankment on the east side of the creek and
flipping over - going over a guard rail and landing on its roof. The driver
was ejected from the vehicle and found next to the truck.
An autopsy will be scheduled. It appears speed
was a factor in this crash and no signs of alcohol intoxication were found
at the scene.
The crash investigation remains open pending autopsy
results and further investigation by Traffic crash Reconstruction
specialists.

JURY FINDS
RONALD VORE III GUILTY OF CSC 1st DEGREE
Information:
Sheriff Dale Gribler reports that the trial of for Ronald Glenn Vore III,
commenced on January 26th 2010 in the 36th Circuit Court before the
Honorable
William C. Buhl.
The two day trial was presented by Assistant Prosecutor
Michael Bedford. The jury received the case for deliberation early Tuesday
morning, returning a guilty verdict before noon of guilty as charged in both
counts. Vore III was in custody at the time of the trial.
Sentencing is set for February 22nd at 1:15 p.m. in
the 36th Circuit Court, Paw Paw Michigan.

Criminal Charges:
CSC 1st Degree with person under the age of 13 yrs, CSC 2nd Degree with person
under the age of 13 yrs.
Investigation:
On July 28th, 2009 Van Buren County Deputies were called to the scene of an
alleged criminal sexual assault in the 43000 block of M-43 Hwy., Paw Paw,
Michigan. This investigation showed that Ronald Vore III age 33 was the
suspect and it involved a 6 year old female victim. It was found that Vore III
was the babysitter for the victim and her two other siblings at the time of
the sexual assault. The sexual assault was brought to the attention of the
parents by the victim. Vore III was an a friend of the parents at the time of
the incident.
Further investigation was conducted by the Van Buren
County Sheriff’s Office with a forensic interview of the victim being
conducted, collection of DNA samples from victim and suspect. The DNA samples
were analyzed by the Grand Rapids Michigan State Police Laboratory with a
match of Vore’s DNA. The Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office issued the CSC
1st Degree and CSC 2nd Degree warrants for Ronald Vore III.
An arrest was made on Vore III on 8-4-09 and he was
being held at the Van Buren County Jail pending his trial date of 1-26-10.

Narrative: Sheriff Dale R. Gribler reports that deputies were dispatched
to the above location for a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, the male party fled the scene on
foot. While conducting interviews, the male party was spotted near a
woodlot behind the residence. Deputies chased after the subject, and was
later taken into custody in the woods.
After gathering the facts of the situation and speaking to all the parties
involved, it was found that Mr. Drake had been
drinking and was driving with the son in the vehicle with him, Mr. Drake was given sobriety test and failed.
He
was placed into custody on the above
charges.

Information:
Sheriff
Dale R. Gribler reports that Van Buren County sheriff deputies were called to
the Magoo’s Gas Station, located at 32140 M-40 Highway, in reference to what
they believed was a counterfeit $20 passed to them. Sheriff deputies were
able to confirm, upon examination of the bill, that it was in fact fake. Store
clerks described the suspect that passed this bill to be that of a Hispanic
male in his mid 40’s, around 6”1, and 250 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.
Information given was that the suspect also maybe driving a mid 90’s silver
Dodge Caravan. Van Buren County sheriff’s deputies are continuing the
investigation into this counterfeit bill along with assistance from agents
from the United States secret service out of Grand Rapids.

Information:
Sheriff Dale
Gribler reports that Deputies where dispatched to 45165 24th Ave. for a dirt
bike crash with a injured driver. Deputies arrived on scene and found the
driver of the dirt bike in the woods being treated by medical personnel.
Witnesses on scene stated that the female driver asked to drive the dirt bike
around the property and was granted access by the owner. The witness on scene
stated that they heard the dirt bike rev extremely high and went to check on
the driver. The witness, along with the vehicle owner, stated that they where
unable to find the driver for over ten minutes. One of the witnesses stated
that she looked in the woods and noticed the driver laying unresponsive from
striking her head on a boulder. Deputies where advised by Van Buren EMS that
the drivers condition was very poor and that she would need to be airlifted to
Kalamazoo. Van Buren EMS transported the female driver to Paw Paw hospital
where she was airlifted for further medical care. This incident is still under
investigation pending blood alcohol results. Deputies on scene where assisted
by Paw Paw Quick Response and Van Buren EMS.

Victim: The incidents occurred when the female child was between the
ages of 6 and 9 years old.
Suspect:
55 yr old male, originally from the Van Buren County
Area now residing in Boon County Arkansas. He is being held on a charge of
failing to verify-register as a Sex Offender in Arkansas. The Suspect’s name
being withheld until he is extradited back to Michigan and arraignment in 7th
District Court, Van Buren County.

Ct# 1&2 - Criminal
Sexual Conduct-Second Degree (Person Under Thirteen), did engage in sexual
contact with another person, said person being under 13 years of age; contrary
to MCL 750.520c(1)(a). 15 year Felony. Narrative:
Sheriff Dale R. Gribler reports that on May 19,
2009 at 6:30 p.m., the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a
relative reporting that a 9 year old female had been inappropriately touch by a
family friend over the last 3 years. The 9 year old had disclosed at school
during a sexual abuse awareness class at her Elementary School that she had been
inappropriately touched by a family friend, with last time being approximately 1
year ago. The victim’s family was contacted by Children Protective Services and
the Sheriff’s Office after being notified by the school counselors. The Van
Buren County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Response, Detective Bureau and CPS
conducted the investigation.
Through the investigation, it was found that the
suspect was a convicted Sex Offender in Michigan and had moved to Harrison,
Arkansas. The suspect failed to change his address and notify the Michigan State
Police-SOR Unit in Lansing of his move. He was picked up in November 2008
for failing to verify-register as a Sex Offender in Arkansas. He is currently
being held in Boone County Jail in Harrison, Arkansas on those charges. An
Investigator with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office did a courtesy interview
with the suspect who confessed to the sexual contact with the young female
victim. The VBC Detective Bureau obtained a 2 count felony warrant for the
suspect.
