Uttering and Publishing, Check Fraud Complaint
Suspect Information:
Paul
Spagnola, 35 year old male out of the Decatur area.
Information:
Sheriff
Dale R. Gribler reports that deputies investigated a check fraud complaint in
which Spagnola allegedly deposited a total of $10,080 in fraudulent checks
into his account at the Shoreline Chemical Bank in Sister Lakes, MI on
6/15/09.
Spagnola was able to withdraw some of this money before
the fraudulent activity was discovered by the bank and his account was
frozen.
The investigating deputies were also assisted
throughout the investigation by members of the Van Buren Co Sheriff's Office
Detective Bureau as well. A 3 count Felony Warrant for Uttering and
Publishing with a $15,000 cash bond was issued on 4/28/10 after a thorough
investigation by detectives and deputies.
Spagnola surrendered himself to the 7th District Court
East on this warrant and posted bond on 5/6/10.
