Incident #:
4567-10
Incident Type: Operate-Maintain Methamphetamine Lab, warrant arrests.
Date and Time:
June 26, 2010 at 19:55.
Location:
16000 block of 27th St. in Kendall.
Arrested:
26 year old Kendall resident, Matthew Ray Hess.
Information:
Sheriff
Dale R. Gribler reports that deputies were dispatched to the area of 27th
St., south of Kendall, for a resident reporting a strong smell of ether coming
from the 16000 block of 27th St. The
caller stated that the active meth lab was located in a tent occupied by a
subject behind the residence.
Upon arrival, Deputies immediately detected
the ether smell and determined it was coming from the above property.
Contact was made with two male subjects, one of which was actively using
methamphetamine in the tent with the lab. During the investigation, it was
determined that there were several reaction vessels and a large amount of
equipment used to manufacture the meth.
The homeowners arrived home a short
while later after being gone all day and upon being told of what was being
investigated, they stated they were unaware of what was going on.
The
subject inside the tent also had 6 outstanding felony warrants out of
Allegan County. He was subsequently lodged at the Van Buren County Jail
where he is held at this time.
The second male subject found outside the
tent was questioned and released once it was determined that he was not
involved with the active lab.
The Drug and Lab Disposal company out of
Plainwell were called to the scene to dispose of the lab and it's
components.
Investigating Deputies:
Jason Stasienko, Miriam Sipes, Richard Rennhack, and the Narcotics
Detectives.
