of Columbia street in Grand Junction.
Suspect Information:
46 year old Breedsville Michigan man (name withheld pending arraignment in
district court).
Information:
Sheriff Dale R. Gribler reports that Van Buren
County Deputies responded to the Village of Grand Junction at 2300 hours on
Thursday evening to a 911 call of an unknown subject who had just entered the
residence.
Occupants of the home at the time of this call were two
adult females, two small children, and the husband to one of the females.
Deputies on scene found that the unknown subject had fled the residence prior to
officers arrival.
After getting information on the suspect, a K9 track
was in process when one of the Deputies working the perimeter noted a subject
walking southbound on CR 215 near the residence. This subject was found to be,
in fact, the subject who had just entered this home and then fled as police
responded. Thru further investigation, it was found that the home owners had no
idea who the suspect was, or the reason for him entering into their home.
The forty-six year old male was arrested and Lodged at
the Van Buren County Jail pending arraignment for illegal entry.

Information:

Reports that Deputies assigned to the OSHP traffic related alcohol enforcement
grant attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to dim their high beams headlights
to oncoming traffic this near Baseline Rd. and 57th St.
The vehicle in violation then began to elude officers
by driving through a blueberry field near 57th Street. Deputies were able to
catch up with the vehicle on 57th St near CR 388. The vehicle’s driver turned
off his lights and was traveling at speeds reaching that of 80MPH now southbound
on 57th Deputies then pursued the vehicle onto CR681 with the suspect vehicle
still having its lights off, and at high speeds for several more miles continued
to attempt to elude officers. The vehicle abruptly stopped on CR681, south of
CR388, where the driver and passenger both fled out of the vehicle and fled on
foot. Deputies lost sight of the driver but where able to take the passenger
into custody after a short foot chase.
Deputies were able to identify the driver after
interviewing witnesses and locating items inside the vehicle which identified
him as well. Deputies lodged the passenger at the Van Buren County Jail for
Resisting a officer and Open Intoxicants in a motor vehicle. Deputies are
submitting charges on the driver for Fleeing and Eluding a officer and Open
intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.
